Bahutva Karnataka Releases Report Card Of BJP Government In Agriculture Sector
Agriculture The BJP government has failed in the matter of agriculture, especially in Karnataka
Bangalore: Ahead of the upcoming elections in Karnataka, a number of reports have been published by the prominent social organization of the state, Bahutoha Karnataka, about the defection of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government.
How was the performance of the government in these fields like agriculture, education, health etc. and marks were also given to the government in these reports.
Bahutoh Karnataka explained that the purpose of publishing these reports is to bring awareness to the people that when they go to vote on May 10, they should remember what the government of their state has done to the people.
In this regard, Dr. Siddharth had a special conversation with ETV Bharat about the performance of the Karnataka government in the field of agriculture.
Dr. Siddharth said that there are two types of risks in the field of agriculture, one is that the farmer does not get the price for what he produces through his cultivation. The second is that the crop is destroyed due to bad weather, these are two such challenges due to which the farmers are generally worried.
Siddharth said that before the 3 laws that were brought by the central government, the state government had already implemented the law called APMC, under which farmers can now sell outside the APMC as well. The facilities have been provided, due to which the business used to be done in APMC is now almost closed and APMC is also on the verge of closure which is harmful for the farmers.
Farmers have been demanding for a long time, minimum support price or nivantam mulia, i.e. a fixed price of any produce fixed by the government, below which anyone can buy the produce. So that the farmers are not harmed, but the government has not brought this plan so far.
Siddharth further said that when the central government had withdrawn or repealed the anti-farmer laws after the farmers’ agitation in Delhi, it had also promised to form a committee to frame the Minimum Support Price Act. But no action has been taken in this regard so far and in other sense the central government of Narendra Modi has broken the promise with the farmers. Siddharth further said that on the one hand, the central government, since agriculture is a state subject, it was the responsibility of the state government to shed light on the matter and frame the law, but it has not been possible so far.
Dr. Siddharth highlighted another important problem of the farmers, if the crops are destroyed due to climate change or climate change, or if there is famine due to weather changes, then the farmer’s crops are destroyed and in this regard, the government should This problem should be addressed and some measures should be taken to prevent climate change.
Dr. Sidharth expressed serious concern over the suicide of farmers in the state of Karnataka, saying that Karnataka is second in the number of farmer suicides after Maharashtra.
Regarding the increasing suicides of farmers in Karnataka, Dr. Siddharth said that there is a need for a law to fix a minimum support price or if the law is not brought, then the government must take some action that if ever a producer’s Q.I. If it falls, it should be controlled so that the farmer can avoid huge losses.
Dr. Siddharth said that those farmers who do not have manure land but work in other fields are also committing suicide, so there has been no change in increasing the labor of farmers for many years, so it is important that farmers The labor should be increased. Siddharth said that MNREGA is an option if Khati is not available throughout the year, but the ‘NREGA’ scheme is being weakened by both the central and state governments, which is very worrying.
