Bidar Civil Society Desperately Wants Change of Face For mla In Upcoming Elections; Urge Congress to Act, else Face Humiliation

Bangalore/Bidar: Prominent figures and civil society members of the historic city of Bidar in North Karnataka are extremely angry with the current political leadership of the constituency, calling it highly incompetent, inefficient and completely failed.
Prominent socio-political activists and civil society members representing the people claim that during the last 15 years there has been no development work or any efforts towards setting up of industries or generate employment in the city, the current MLA is not only corrupt but also an agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The civil society members express regret that the roads are being repaired as the elections are nearing in the State, which is not at all acceptable.
Under such critical political situation in Bidar, the social society members say that the current MLA remained silent on the serious problems of the community and the people, so there is a strong demand for a change in political leadership for Bidar from the Congress High Command.
Dalit leader Swami Das said that the MLA Rahim Khan has joined hands with the BJP Government and is carrying out the so called development work of roads repair by taking 40% commission.
It should be remembered that Bidar is an ancient city where the Bahmani Kingdom under the leadership of Muhammad bin Tughluq and Ahmad Shah Bahmani ruled for a long period of time and Hazrat Mahmud Gowan then had established a university in Bidar in which teachers from Samarkand were to teach thousands of students coming from across the country.
But today Bidar district is listed among the most backward districts, so since independence though there has been a leadership from minority communities in terms of political leadership, but no major development work has ever been seen in the city or the district.
The civil society of Bidar says that the power of the parties in Bidar kept changing, the candidates kept changing, but the situation in Bidar remained the same, so pathetic.
Important personalities say that there should be a competent leadership for the development work in Bidar who is serious and cares for the people of the city.
There are many ancient monuments in Bidar city which come under the Archaeological Survey of India and this government body looks after them.
Several prominent personalities including well-known businessman Ayaz Khan, Dalit leader Swami Das, CPI leader Ali Muhammad Khan and Congress leaders Shashikant, Patil Sheikh Haji, have urged the Karnataka Congress to serious consider changing face of the MLA in the upcoming elections in the State, else be ready to face humiliated defeat.
