After Muzaffarnagar and Delhi, hate speech is now showing up in schools of Karnataka, A disturbing incident in the state’s Shimoga district, where a government school teacher, Manjula Devi, allegedly told the musiim students “to go to Pakistan”.
The teacher told the muslim students that this is not their country.
Educationist Abdul Subhan described this as a shamefull incident as teacher attempts to fill the minds of innocent children with poison of hatred. He said that wherever hateful incidents occur, strict action should be taken against the hate mongers.
Block Education Officer B Nagaraj investigated the incident and said that other students in the class have coroborated the complaint. He revealed that the teacher allegedly told the students, “This is not your country, it is the country of Hindus.” The teacher who allegedly spread the hatred has been transferred and the inquiry has been initiated.
Reacting to the media Minister for Minority Affairs Zameer Ahmed Khan said that strict action will be taken against the teacher, won’t suspend her but dismiss if proven guilty.
This incident has made the Muslim community deeply concerned about the state of intolerance in schools. Now its to be seen how the incident will be dealt with and what action will be taken.
