The survivors of the tragedy in Manipur are met with empathy and support in Bengaluru, in a moving gesture of compassion and unity. To grieve the enormous loss of humanity and to reaffirm the commitment to protecting the fundamental guarantee of safety and dignity for all women, people from around Bengaluru gathered in front of the town hall.
The protestors said that the recent dreadful events in Manipur have stirred the collective social conscience and have brought to the forefront the urgent need to address violence against women.
It is to be noted that More than 150 people have lost their lives, and more than 50 thousand people have been displaced while the Manipur has been burning.
The protestors said, the inhuman act of a mob towards 2 women in Manipur has bought shame to India. Sadly, what happened in Manipur is not an unusual incident, countless women face similar violence every day across the nation.
The protestors say that, Karnataka stands united to demand justice, accountability, and change. Protestors further said, people of Karnataka unite as one, transcending all differences, to be the voice that refuses to be silenced. Together, it declares that violence against women is not just a women’s issue; it is a human issue, and we must all play a part in eradicating it.
