Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met with representatives of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board at the Home Office Krishna.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed concerns about the potential threat to the rights of Muslims and their personal laws due to the proposed Uniform Civil Code. The Chief Minister assured the board that the state government is committed to protecting the rights of minorities and will respond after the publication of the draft Uniform Civil Code.
He criticized the central government for creating unnecessary controversy ahead of the election. The delegation also requested the government’s assistance in safeguarding Waqf properties and addressing encroachment.
