The Qureshi community announced its unconditional support to the JDS in the 2023 elections
BANGALORE: A delegation of Qureshi community leaders from across the state representing various districts of Karnataka, led by All India Jamiat Al Quraysh Karnataka Chapter President Shoaibur Rehman Qureshi, met former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.
During the meeting, Shoaib-ur-Rehman Qureshi said that the Qureshi community supports you unconditionally and we want to see you as the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Shoaib-ur-Rehman Qureshi said that except for a few families, the majority of the Quraysh community is poor and does hard work.
Shoaib-ur-Rehman Qureshi recalled that former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda had taken a delegation to Delhi against the Anti-Cattle Slaughter Act which was passed by the then BJP government and thanked him. He said that Janata Dal’s role was highly commendable and he would not forget him.
Shoaib Rehman Qureshi said that the BJP government of the state has destroyed the Qureshi community economically by enacting the controversial anti-cattle slaughter act in the state. He said that this act has not only taken away the livelihood of the Qureshi community but also taken away the employment of a large number of workers belonging to the SC/ST community associated with the business of butchers.
Shoaib-ur-Rehman Qureshi has also raised the issue of cattle slaughterhouses and urged the former chief minister to ensure that butchers can continue their business and earn their living.
The Quraysh community submitted a detailed memorandum with HD Kumaraswamy detailing the various issues faced by the community and urged HD Kumaraswamy to ensure that they are addressed.
HD Kumaraswamy warmly welcomed the Qureshi community, listened patiently to their demands and said, “The problems presented here by your delegation are not so big and I promise you that all of them will be solved.” will be fulfilled.
HD Kumaraswamy further promised Qureshi community leaders that the JDS will definitely repeal the controversial Anti-Cattle Slaughter Act once his party comes to power and assured that modern slaughterhouses will be built across the state. . The former chief minister said that we will definitely and positively resolve the important issues that he has presented in his memorandum.
Getting assurances from JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, Qureshi community leaders told the former chief minister in the meeting that Qureshi community families would not only support JDS but campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. I will also join.
