Reaction of AAP on Electoral Promises Being Made by Congress and BJP
Bangalore: The assembly elections are to be held in Karnataka soon and in this election season, various promises are being made by the political parties to sway the voters.
JD(S) leader Kumar Swamy said that if he does not fulfill the promises made to farmers after coming to power in Karnataka, he will dissolve the party.
And the Congress went step ahead and former C. M. Siddaramaiah said that if his party could not fulfill the election promises, he and his party leaders would retire from politics and go home.
The Aam Aadmi Party reacted to these kinds of statements by the Congress and the BJP.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Brijesh Kalappa said that Congress and JDS statements during the elections are like a ‘Cat Scratching a Pole.’ He said that both the Congress and JDS have lost confidence of the people of Karnataka hence they are on the spree of making promises.
It is to be noted that the promises made by JDS party chief Kumaraswamy include quality education, health, free housing, farmers’ welfare and employment for youth.
It should also be noted that in Karnataka Congress has promised, in case of coming to power, 200 units of free electricity will be provided to every house in the state. In this regard, Siddaramaiah said that this scheme will not be limited to 200 units of free electricity per month only for Dalits, backward and minorities, it will be for every household.
Terming it as the party’s “first guarantee” ahead of the assembly polls in the month of April or May 2023, the Congress made the pledge at a time when the party is on a statewide campaign tour dubbed ‘Praja Dhwani’.
After promising to provide 200 units of free electricity to all households in the state, the Karnataka Congress has made another big promise, if the party comes to power, to launch the “Gruha Lakshmi Scheme”, under which households in the state will get electricity. Each woman will be given cash assistance of Rs 2,000 per month.
